Phylum Porifera Characteristics

Porifera is a phylum of animals commonly known as sponges. They are multicellular and mostly marine organisms that lack true tissues and organs. Instead, they have a simple body plan consisting of a hollow sac-like structure with numerous pores, canals, and chambers through which water flows.
